May-June 2013

A month-long trip through three regions of France.
Travelling south from Calais we stopped overnight at la Bouille, a picturesque village on the Seine near Rouen, then at Tours, in order to visit nearby Villandry.
After that, three gites in three different-but-similar regions of France: a hilltop citadelle at Turenne, a village miles up a mountain in the Auvergne and a stunning lakeside cottage in the French Jura.

May-June 2010
A four-week journey the length of France.
After stopping off in Provence, we took the ferry to Calvi and a charming gite in the shadow of the bell tower in Calenzana.
Returning via Switzerland, we stopped again in Nancy and briefly in the Somme to visit the WW1 battlefields and the town of Verdun.
