There are too many pictures of Villandry here, but with two cameras going it’s hard to know what to leave out.The château of Villandry is a few miles to the west of Tours, in the Loire valley.

We were inspired to visit by a television program which showed how the ornamental gardens were populated with cabbages of various colours. In fact, the french-style gardens with their manicured box hedges are the most striking aspect of the château. Visiting at the end of May has definite charms. While you don’t quite have the place to yourself, there are very few vistors in comparison with the high season.
